Publishing your FrontPage Web.
Using
FrontPage
FrontPage is a website building and management tool that helps to simplify
the creation,
uploading, and website management process.
In a nutshell, there are 2 major components in the
FrontPage program.
First is the FrontPage Explorer which is used to manage and upload your website.
Second is the FrontPage Editor which is used to edit your web pages.
You have the option of editing your copy of your website locally, then upload
the changed pages.
or you can connect to the copy you have on the server and edit the pages in
real-time right
on the server.
Editing in real-time can be a time saver when you
only have to make minor updates,
however, when making more than minor changes you should first edit your local
copy
then upload the changes.
The reason for this is so you will always have an updated copy that you can
depend on.
When you are ready to publish your site there are
three pieces of information that you will need
to have on hand to publish to your web space:
1. Your domain name.
2. Your account username.
3. Your account password.

real time on the web server.)
If you already
have a FrontPage Web created or your web site
you can skip this part to Step 3
Microsoft FrontPage calls all the
files and pages of your entire website put together
a "FrontPage Web," so when FrontPage refers to
the word WEB it is in reference to the folder with
all your files\pictures\etc for your entire web
site.
